FULTON HOGAN WHANGARA
For restoration of the Whangara dunes we used coconut matting in conjuction with native plantings. This is a great approach to improving the health and stability of this important coastal ecosystem. Coconut matting, also known as coconut coir, is a natural and biodegradable material that can be used to assist the establishment of new vegetation and help prevent erosion. This product is a sustainable alternative to synthetic materials and can help the growth of native plants by providing a stable growing medium.
